The following scientific conferences are organized and held at the Faculty of Computer Science and Cybernetics of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv:

  • Problems of Decision Making under Uncertainties (PDMU) International Scientific Conference. Organized and conducted since 2001 by the Departments of System Analysis and Decision Theory, Applied Statistics and Operations Research.
  • International Scientific Conference "Theoretical and Applied Aspects of Program Systems Development" (TAAPSD). Since 2004 the Department of Theory and Technology of Programming has been organized and conducted in cooperation with the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and the Institute of Program Systems of NAS of Ukraine.
  • Dynamic System Modeling and Stability Investigation (DSMSI) International Scientific Conference. Organized and conducted since 2005 by the Department of Complex Systems Modeling.
  • Computational and Applied Mathematics CAM (International Conference on Computational and Applied Mathematics). It is organized and conducted since 2007 by the Department of Computational Mathematics.
  • Shevchenko Spring: Cybernetics International Scientific Conference of Students, Graduate Students and Young Scientists. It is organized and conducted since 2003 by the Scientific Society of Students and Graduate Students of the Faculty of Cybernetics of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
  • TAAC International Theoretical and Applied Aspects of Cybernetics Students, Young Students, and Young Scientists. Organized and conducted since 2011 by the Scientific Society of Students and Graduate Students of the Faculty of Cybernetics, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.




The following scientific seminars are available at the Faculty of Computer Science and Cybernetics:

  • System analysis and theory of optimal solutions. The seminar operates at the Department of Systems Analysis and Decision Theory. The seminar discusses reports on fundamental and applied areas of modern decision theory, PhD and doctoral theses in specialties 01.05.02 - "Mathematical modeling and computational methods" and 01.05.04 - "System analysis and theory of optimal decisions". The supervisor of the seminar is - NA Ogonechniy, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, professor.

  • Modeling and optimization of incomplete data systems. The seminar works at the Department of Complex Systems Modeling. During the seminar the candidate and doctoral dissertations on specialties 01.05.02 - "Mathematical modeling and computational methods" and 01.05.04 - "System analysis and theory of optimal solutions" are discussed. Scientific advisers of the seminar - FG Garashchenko, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor; Konchonny OG, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor.


  • Computational and Applied Mathematics. The seminar operates at the Department of Computational Mathematics. The seminar discusses PhD and doctoral theses in specialties 01.01.07 - "Computational Mathematics", 01.05.01 - "Theoretical Foundations of Informatics and Cybernetics" and 01.05.02 - "Mathematical Modeling and Computational Methods". The supervisor of the seminar is SI Lyashko, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor.

  • Programming and its application. The seminar operates at the Department of Theory and Technology of Programming. During the seminar the candidate and doctoral dissertations on specialties 01.05.01 - "Theoretical bases of informatics and cybernetics" and 01.05.03 - "Mathematical and software of computers and systems" are discussed. Supervisor of the seminar - MS Nikitchenko, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor.

  • Modern problems of information technologies. The seminar operates at the Department of Mathematical Informatics. During the seminar the candidate and doctoral dissertations on specialties 01.05.01 - "Theoretical bases of informatics and cybernetics" and 01.05.03 - "Mathematical and software of computers and systems" are discussed. The supervisor of the seminar is AV Anisimov, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor.

  • Intelligent information systems. The seminar operates at the Department of Information Systems. The seminar discusses various issues related to discrete mathematics, artificial intelligence, algorithms and programming, non-classical logic, abstract computational models, Petri net theory, bioinformatics. Candidate and doctoral dissertations on specialties 01.05.01 - “Theoretical bases of computer science and cybernetics” and 01.05.03 - “Mathematical and software of computers and systems” are also discussed within the seminar. The scientific supervisor of the seminar is Provotar OI, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor.


The Faculty of Computer Science and Cybernetics of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv has the Dissertation Council D 26.001.09 with the right to accept for consideration and conduct defences of dissertations for the degree of Doctor of Science in the following specialities:

  • 01.05.04 - System analysis and theory of optimal solutions (physical and mathematical sciences);

1. International Conference on "Privacy, Cybersecurity & E-Commerce: Law, Policy & Compliance"


The Center for American & European Studies and the Center for Science & Technology are honored to invite you to take part in the 3rd International Conference on "Privacy, Cybersecurity & E-Commerce: Law, Policy & Compliance".

The goal of the conference is to discuss the issue of Privacy, Cybersecurity & E-Commerce through an interdisciplinary prism of law, policy changes, compliance standards, and changes in technology.

The conference will be focused on contemporary and future challenges in the most dynamically developing sectors such as social media, digital privacy or cloud security.

The conference will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 4:30 AM (CET) to 9 AM (CET) online on the Microsoft Teams platform. CET is Warsaw/Berlin/Rome/Prague time.
